30 May

  • 19:00 h: Presentation of the Geological Guide of the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido by Alejandro Robador, Head of Department of Geology, Geomorphology and Geological Mapping of the Spanish Geological Survey and Elena Villagrasa, Geologist of the National Park and member of the Board of Directors of the Sobrarbe Geopark. In the Geovision Room, Medieval Castle of Aínsa.
  • 20:30 h. Lecture: "The legacy of glaciers in the Sobrarbe Geopark " by Ánchel Belmonte, Coordinator of the Scientific Advisory Panel Sobrarbe Geopark. In the Geovision Room, Medieval Castle of Aínsa.

31 May

  • 8:00 h: Geological tour: Speleological visit to the Cave Manatuero-Malapreciata in the village of Buerba, guided by the Scientific Speleological Association Cotiella (ACEC).
  • 19:30 h: Presentation "Cotiella towards 1.000" about the current speleological explorations in the Cotiella massif. Geovision Room of the Medieval Castle of Aínsa. Presented by the ACEC. Audiovisual and discussion in the Geovision Room, Aínsa Castle.

1 June

  • 8:00 Geological tour: Geological itinerary in Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park Broto-Otal Valley. Guided by Chema Samsó, geologist-consultant and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Geopark and Alejandro Robador, Head of Department of Geology, Geomorphology and Geological Mapping of the Spanish Geological Survey.

7 June

  • 8:00 Culture and Heritage: Guided tour "Knowing the heritage of Fanlo-Vio-Buerba", by Heritage Service of Sobrarbe Geopark. 7 hours total duration. Small walking tour.

2) GEO & CULTURE / MUSIC / LITERATURE / ARTS / NATURE:

23 to 25/05 30/05 to 01/06:

  • "Entomological nights in Sobrarbe Geopark": Observation of the Elizabethan butterfly (Graellsia isabelae) in the village of Revilla.

30-05

  • 19:30 h: IV Geopark Photo Contest: "The Legacy of the glaciers in Sobrarbe Geopark". Awards ceremony in the Geovision room of the Sobrarbe Geopark, in the tower of the medieval Castle of Ainsa.

30-05 to 09-06

  • VI Geopark Photographic Exhibition: "The Legacy of the glaciers in Sobrarbe Geopark". Geovision room of the Sobrarbe Geopark. Castle of Aínsa. Northeast Tower. Visiting hours: every day from 10:00 am to 1 p.m. and from 16:30 pm to 18:30 pm.

07-06

  • 8:00 h: Culture and Heritage: Guided tour "Ascaso- Morillo Sampietro -San Vicente de Labuerda. An approach to the romanic art in Sobrarbe Geopark". Walking tour, 7 hours total duration.

08-06

  • 8:00 h: Workshop "Capturing the colors and lights of Sobrarbe Geopark with watercolor : A pictorial route in the Romanic hermitages Tella.

3) GEO & EDUCATION:

30-05

  • "Pirineos Monte Perdido World Heritage Site". Activity for school pupils (3-14 years): works in the classroom, visits, workshops, audiovisual and exhibition of the works, with the aim of promoting knowledge of Sobrarbe Geopark, of the European and Global Geoparks Network and also the importance of the World Heritage Sites connected with Sobrarbe Geopark.

31-05

  • "Day without smoke in Sobrarbe Geopark". Popular hike between the villages of Humo ("Smoke") of Rañín and Humo ("Smoke") of Muro.

4) GEO & EGN/GGN:

06-06

18:45 h: Other Geology and other Global Geoparks: in the Geovision room, medieval Castle of Ainsa.

  • Presentation "The Maestrazgo Geopark". By Angel Hernández, manager of the Maestrazgo Geopark.
  • Presentation "Geology of the Himalayas: The formation of the Himalayas from the perspective of a geologist and mountaineer", by Luis Carcavilla, representative of the Spanish Geological Survey in the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Sobrarbe Geopark and member of the Himalayan expeditions with Carlos Soria.

  • Talleres Escolares: 30 de Mayo: Conoce el bien Pirineos-Monte Perdido, Patrimonio Mundial: Actividad educativa dirigida a los escolares de la comarca con el objetivo de promover el conocimiento de los criterios y razones que motivaron la declaración de este bien como Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO: la geología y el paisaje cultural.
  • Noches Entomológicas en el Pirineo. Salidas nocturnas para la observación de la mariposa Isabelina. (Graellsia isabelae). Aínsa . 9-11 de mayo y 16 al 18 de mayo.
