The World of Geoparks
Location and access
Sobrarbe County covers 2002 km2 (773 sq. miles) and is located in Huesca province, in the extreme north of Aragon. It is bordered to the north by France, to the west by Alto Gállego County, to the east by Ribagorza County and to the south by Somontano de Barbastro County. .
Boltaña and Aínsa are joint capitals of the region which includes 19 municipalities.
To the north of Sobrarbe County are the high mountains, an area drained by the headwaters of the valleys of the rivers Ara and Cinca Cinqueta. The central area is occupied by the middle courses of these rivers, the valleys of Broto, Fiscal, Arcusa and La Fueva. To the south are the pre-Pyrenean mountains of Guara and Arbe.

The main roads are the A-138 that runs through the county from north to south along the Cinca river and the N-260 running through the Ara valley parallel to the river and which, together with the N-240, forms the Pyrenean axis
