On 24th February, The Sobrarbe Geopark was visited by eight representatives of different institutions: the Spanish Mining and Geological Institute, Murcia University, Spanish Geological Society, Alto-Tajo Natural Park and Molina de Aragon Town Council.
The main goal of this visit was to get acquainted with the Geopark, especially with our management model and the activities developed by the Sobrarbe Geopark, setting a new benchmark for Spanish Geoparks.
On the morning, they were welcomed by the County Council President, Mr. Enrique Campo, who explained the application process to be granted with this distinction by the UNESCO and the involvements for the Sobrarbe territory.
Later, they visited the Geopark Space in Aínsa, the Geological Interactive Centre, the Technical Office and the Geovision Room. Finally, they visited the Sobrarbe Museum of Paleontology in Lamata.
